Veal is the meat of any young male or female cow. Ground veal is often made into gravied patties or breaded and served as “veal parmesan”. It has a strange flavor and the patties are usually grisled and strange tasting. I have eaten high grade veal at a fancy restaurant and it still tasted kind of strange. The calves who are killed at a young age are sometimes separated from their mothers and are sometimes caged. Because of this sometimes-cruel nature of veal production, there have been regulations installed to diminish it.
